| | The 4 gigabit copper ports (RJ45) are shared with the 4 SFP slots which makes it flexible to choose if you want to use fiber or copper gigabit connections. There are 4 different modules available right now: Multi mode for a distance of up to ~500 meters (MGB-SX) and single mode (MGB-LX, MGB-L50, MGB-L70) for distances between 10 and 70 km.
Management ist possible through local RS-232 port, remote Telnet, Web or SNMP. The most important functions: Bandwidth control per port, port-based as well as 802.1Q standard VLAN, IGMP Snooping (Multicast Control, important for multimeda application like IPTV) and IGMP query mode, Broadcost Strom Control, Port Mirroring, Port Trunking with LACP protocol for enhancing the uplink to 2 Gbps.
